MAIA BALAM: MY LIFE AS A CULINARY ARTIST, HEALTH COACH & RECOVERED LYME PATIENT.

 

I have been cooking veggies for almost 15 years, and teaching people about new styles of nutrition, raw food, fusion dishes, superfoods, elixirs and healthy living for around 6 years. For the last 8 years I have been crafting a raw brownie recipe which has literally taken me to different countries with its sales. In 2015 I founded a small catering company in Vancouver Canada, and provided healthy meals, teas and vegan & gluten free treats to private events, music festivals and concerts. 

 

Back in the day I was 18, living in a very Industrial society in Mexico I began re-inventing my cuisine and life-style, thats the time when I became a vegetarian, learnt about Buddhism, and ceased consuming meat and processed foods. From then on I have been redefining the way I eat, the way I breathe, the way I think, and the way I relate to the world, always looking for the highest vibrational everything, from music, to flavors and textures.

For many years I was one of the healthiest people among my friends, until one day In Autumn of 2016 I became very ill from LYME disease and my immune system dropped down to 0, I had bacteria multiplying in my brain, heart, articulations, digestive system, spine and blood, the list of symptoms went up to 20 different maladies that put a stop to all my activities. My life was crushed, I was in intense pain, my brain and many organs where crashing, I was desperate for solutions and the medical system didnt helped me at all (The "specialist" I was appointed with was very misleading and under-medicating me with the wrong dosage of antibiotics), the statistics and multiple  reports written by patients that I was studying at the time showed that I was going to be fighting a very unpredictable and hard to kill bacteria for an indefinite number of months or years.  I didnt wanted a pharmaceutical dependent life for myself, so every day I would immerse myself for hours in the internet (spite intense headaches)  and throughly study my case. I was studying the disease and other patients cases, medical papers, new researches, experimenting with alternate pharmaceutical drug combos, pulsing with herbal medicine combos, supplements to fix my brain, digestive system recovery, protocols to kill bacterias and researching tinctures to replenish my adrenal and immune systems, etc, etc.

Truly a kafkian mind maze, but I knew I could find a way out.

 

At the 2nd month of being very sick I made the wise decision to drop the pharmaceuticals (because they destroyed my intestinal flora) so I continued fighting LYME with natural bactericides, such as catsclaw, Japanese Knotweed, Oregano Oil and GSE, an around other 20 dif supplements, I quited all sugars, gluten, grains and dairy and began a path of daily cleansing and strengthening my liver´s chi and digestive system, along harnessing the hope and direction, that I was heading towards my remission. After 6 months of battle, self education, deep relaxation and precise nutrition I was able to figure out the codes that allowed my body to strengthen the immune system and fight the "invaders".

 

  I was experimenting with all kinds of protocols, from salt & lime in big quanties, to cleanses, steam rooms, Chinese medicine, Kambo, and one day I found RIFE machine.  I tracked down a RIFE machine practitioner in Mexico City, and with the help of a machine that generates frequencies and amplified plasma emissions I was able to eradicate the clusters of bio-film that where hiding in my brain and articulations and which where multiplying themselves every month. (it is needed to say that I had to go to 8 sessions in a spam of 2 months, and that I had to continue working on my system still after those sessions)

 

I knew there was a solution even if the statistics shown in hundreds of patients reviews that I read said that I was going to be doomed with pharmaceutical combos for many years, I kept the hope and the willingness to THRIVE and find the end of this maze without being dependent on Big PHARMA, I was not gonna give up my body and wellbeing to a bunch of bacterias.  I was able to have a speed recovery in only 6 months, (most lyme cases take years to figure it out and have a somehow normal and painless life again), Im very grateful that I was able to identify my Illness and take the situation in my own hands. It was not easy, but it was possible.

 

Today I nurture my life with the best superfoods I find wherever I travel in the world, I still use a bunch of high end supplements to mantain my health, and Im always looking for local, fresh, and organic produce which will provide more nutrition and energy than the one at stores.  One of my main missions as a health coach, chef and Bio Hacker is to teach people that they can also take control of their own lives by switching to a vegetarian & organic diet. That it is possible to reverse chronic illnesses and that you should never ever believe in Doctors as the ultimate source of information, because every case is different, there are many alternative treatments for every malady, and also I must mention that the medical system is structured for you to keep giving them money and buying medicines indefinitely, its a business.

Being a very selective Vegetarian allows you to have a great immune system, enough proteins, enzymes, nutrients, and minerals, in order to have all your systems operating 100% wich will allow you to be happy, focused, motivated, inspired, and energetic every sigle day of your life, rather than depressed, low energy, over weight, always sick of something, and mad at the world.    its easy to change the way you feel, it all starts with nutrition and self discipline. it all starts with being happy and loving yourself.
